Although we work in the midst of the city and segambut sounds like an old far away town..little do people know it is just next to each other and connected via an unpredictable road, Jalan Ipoh.. So every once in a while, as unpredictable as the road, we will venture to Segambut, place of many wonders..
Yesterday we decided to venture for some seafood noodles, in an established place called Yu Ai.. back in the days, this place was hot and stuffy and the noodles were at a exorbitant price of RM8/10 a bowl compared to your hawker stalls prices of RM3/4. Now a bowl would cost RM12 for small and 14 for large notwithstanding theres also a separate 5% service tax..Talk about trying to be on budget and eating noodles!
So in the end, i blew my budget and my meal cost me RM16.80 with a drink..not exactly cheap..but take a look at the noodles laden with a variety of seafood including prawns, mussels, cuttlefish and fish fillet.. the soups that are available includes the rich creamy curry, assam or the clear soup which is my pick because the freshness of the seafood is so evident that you can smell the sea..or maybe its ajinomoto..i am not too sure..
A drink that couldnt decide whether it wanted to be black (leong fun) or white (soya bean) thus named Michael Jackson..I am serious!
The creamy curry seafood laksa i was talking about.. I never have the guts to try this..because i am just so in love with the clear soup and also too conscious with calories (yeah right!)..
My favourite clear soup hor fun with lots of seafood everywhere..I realised how hard it is to snap pictures with a DSLR under pressure.. its really hard! My first proper review with a camera that i am slowly mastering.. A solid 8.5 out of 10..

SS2? Not Chow Yang-meh? I too prefer the clear soup version. *hi5*
Yummy!! Just had it few weeks back during a Friday. Love their tom yam. You should try that. It's even better than the curry or clear soup.
I should really be cooking dinner but your clear soup pic does make me hungry so I should get a move on! However, as nice as the clear soup looks I am also a Tom Yum fan, the hotter and more sour the better *steam coming from ears* type!
ling239: it was still warm haha but the noodles did absorb the soup at an alarming rate!
tummythoz: hi 5 !
seaqueen: tom yam tom yam..let me find the guinea pig 1st ok?
msiagirl: hahah looks like the majority of the girls r real tom yam fans eh..
I usually go for Tom Yum too!
